Is guidance from a dietician covered by my health insurance?
Three hours of dietary counseling are covered by the basic health insurance package. This will first be deducted from your deductible. Additional counseling is available. There is no deductible for children under 18. The dietitian is readily available, meaning no referral is required.
For chronic conditions such as diabetes mellitus and COPD, and within the framework of CVRM (Cardiovascular Risk Management), dietary advice is covered by the Integrated Care program. There is no deductible. A referral from your general practitioner (or GP practice assistant) is required.
