Don't keep this to yourself. In Tilburg, you can turn to various healthcare providers, depending on your symptoms.
Overstrained or burnout?
Central to burnout are symptoms of tension, loss of control, and limitations in daily functioning. Examples include fatigue, poor sleep, irritability, worrying, and concentration problems.
According to the NHG guideline (general practitioner), burnout is a severe form of overstrain. The symptoms have been present for longer than six months, with fatigue and exhaustion being strongly prominent. A general practitioner can assess what is going on and whether other causes need to be investigated.
Common complaints are:
- mental and physical exhaustion;
- not waking up rested;
- headache or muscle tension;
- an increased heart rate;
- rapid or shallow breathing;
- worrying and concentration problems;
- less able to tolerate crowds or noise;
- the feeling of losing grip.
Not everyone experiences the same symptoms. These signals moreover, can also occur with other physical or psychological problems.
Where can you go in Tilburg?
General practitioner or practice nurse
For assessment of your symptoms and, if necessary, further examination or a referral.
Psychologist
When anxiety, sadness, trauma, or patterns hinder your recovery.
Physiotherapist
For assessment and guidance regarding physical complaints, movement, and load capacity.
Psychosomatic physiotherapist
Examines the connection between physical complaints, tension, breathing, and behavior. You learn to recognize body signals and better alternate between exertion and recovery.
A physiotherapist does not diagnose burnout. The guidance focuses on the physical consequences of prolonged overload, such as muscle tension, reduced capacity, and difficulty gradually increasing daily activities. General practitioner care, psychological support, and physiotherapy can coexist. If work plays a significant role, the occupational physician can also contribute ideas regarding suitable work activities and a gradual return to work.
What can Fysi Balance do for you?
Fysi Balance provides objective insight into the body's recovery capacity. We begin with a recovery analysis and a 12-minute RMSSD measurement. This measurement does not constitute a diagnosis. The outcome provides information about how your autonomic nervous system is handling stress and recovery at that moment.
Only when the analysis reveals that your recovery capacity is diminished do we discuss whether a targeted program is appropriate. Therefore, a program does not automatically follow from a conversation or a checklist of symptoms, but is substantiated by personal measurement data.
Within the programs, we work on load capacity, breathing, data insight, and education. At the end, we take measurements again so that the development of your recovery capacity also becomes visible.
