I have pain in my ankle and/or foot
The ankle and foot are complex joints that are closely connected. Together they support the body's weight and provide stability and mobility during walking, running and jumping. The ankle and foot consist of the upper ankle joint, lower ankle joint, midtarsal joints and the joints of the toes. The upper ankle joint consists of three bones: the tibia, fibula and talus. The lower ankle joint consists of the talus and calcaneus. The midtarsal joints are located between the ankle bones (talus, navicular, cuboid, cuneiform and calcaneus) and metatarsal bones. These bones are held together by strong ligaments that provide stability, while muscles and tendons provide movement and strength.
