The elbow is a hinge joint that connects the upper arm (humerus) to the forearm (radius and ulna). It is responsible for bending (flexion) and straightening (extension) the arm, as well as rotating the forearm (pronation and supination). The elbow's stability and mobility are supported by a network of muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bones.
